Security

Trustbuiltintoeverylayer.

Baalot's security is not a feature — it's the architecture. From voter identity to final result publication, every step is secured, anonymous, and auditable — with public, independent verification on our roadmap.

How We Protect Every Vote

Blockchain-Anchored Results (Roadmap)

We're building public-blockchain anchoring so that every vote can be recorded as a signed transaction and independently verified once polls close. Today, results are tallied on Baalot's verified servers and ballots are stored unreadable.

🔐

Anonymous Ballots

Ballots are stored unreadable, so no one — not even Baalot — can tie a vote back to a voter. Zero-knowledge proofs that verify a vote is valid without revealing who cast it are on our roadmap.

🆔

NIN / BVN Identity Verification

Voters are verified against Nigeria's national identity infrastructure before any ballot is opened. Voting is server-verified and de-duplicated — one person, one vote.

🔒

End-to-End Encryption

All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Voter credentials use AES-256. Even if traffic were intercepted, it would be unreadable.

📋

Full Audit Trail

Every admin action, voter check-in, and ballot submission is time-stamped and logged. Any observer can download a complete PDF audit report at any time. On-chain anchoring of the log is on our roadmap.

🛡️

Hardened Infrastructure

Votes are server-verified and stored unreadable on hardened, managed cloud infrastructure. A distributed node architecture, so that no single server can alter results, is on our roadmap.

Independent Verification · Roadmap

Verify any vote receipt yourself.

We're building blockchain vote receipts you'll be able to verify independently — with the Baalot CLI or any node, no trust required. Here's a preview of how it will work.
