Voting on Baalot is free for members and stays that way. Every election still runs on services that bill us each month. A gift of any size, from US$1, helps pay them while we bring elections anyone can check to more institutions, starting in Nigeria.
What it pays for
Four running costs, each one growing with use. There are no amounts here because they change month to month with the number of members and elections.
- Levi
- Every question a member asks Levi is answered by Groq, or by Gemini when Groq is busy. More members asking means paying for more capacity.
- Identity checks
- Document, registry and face checks run through Prembly, which charges for each one.
- Hosting
- The API runs on Vercel and the data on Firebase. Both bills grow with every member, every election and every vote.
- Video storage
- Campaign videos are stored on Cloudflare R2. Storing them costs money; members watching them does not.

Any amount from US$1. Organisation tiers are per month, in naira.
Individuals
Give what you can, once or every month, from US$1. Every gift goes to the bills below, so elections stay free for the members who vote in them.
Minimum US$1, about ₦1,500 at a recent rate. Your gift is about ₦7,500.
Organisations
For companies, foundations and associations. Your organisation's name goes on the sponsors list, with a link if you ask for one.
